Drums – Percussion Ensemble

Michael is a graduate of Mansfield University, with a Bachelors Degree in Music Business. Michael is the Founder and Director of Southampton Music Company, an agency which provides music theater camps, early childhood music instruction, music therapy, instrument repair, keyboard classes, private lessons, and music education services to preschools and townships in Bucks and Montgomery counties. In addition to his administrative responsibilities at SMC, Michael teaches individual percussion and is the director of the SMC Percussion Ensemble. Michael currently is a member of the Music Educator Team at Vic Firth, the world’s leading manufacturer of drum sticks and mallets. Michael has played in several symphony orchestras: Elmira Symphony, Elmira, NY (Percussion), Bucks County Symphony Orchestra, Doylestown, PA (Principal Timpanist), and the Warminster Symphony, Warminster, PA (Percussion). In between teaching and administrative duties, Michael is currently playing drum set for contemporary worship services at Chalfont United Methodist Church, Chalfont, PA, and percussion in the Delaware Valley Wind Symphony.

Robin Diloila


Robin Diloila is a singer/songwriter, music educator, and a performer. She has recently completed her Children’s Music album entitled “Musically Moving Adventures. Robin holds a Bachelors Of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Temple University. She also is a licensed Kindermusik teacher. After years of study in classical guitar technique, music theory, composition, songwriting, and arranging she is now an accomplished musician in all fields. Her teaching experience includes teaching preschool music, kindergarten music, grades 1-7 music, Keyboard Kids, Kindermusik, and guitar/piano technique.

Michele Dowling

Township Classes  – Young Actors Guild

Michelle graduated from Kings College in 1989 with a BA in English. She has trained in classical voice since she was 13 years old, studied dance for 13 years, and throughout high school actively competed in both. She has performed on cruise ships, at wedding ceremonies, in choral groups, college theater, and both community and dinner theater. She currently sings with the Our Lady of Sacred Heart church choir. She has worked with children teaching dance, as well as directing musicals she wrote to accommodate a community theater program with over 70 children involved. Michelle became a licensed Kindermusik instructor in the summer of 1998 and has taught Kindermusik as well as Children Making Music and Southampton Music’s Township music program for almost 15 years. She fills out her summer by directing the Music Theater program at Southampton Music Company.

Nancy Pontius

“SMC Lessons At Home”  Piano – Percussion

Nancy Pontius, pianist, and percussionist, received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Wellesley College, and her Master of Education in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. As a Pennsylvania certified Music Teacher, Nancy has taught general music for five years, grades K-8. She began her musical studies in Austin, TX, and continued them in Boston, MA and Strasbourg, France before moving to the Philadelphia area. Nancy currently works with the percussion sections of local marching bands. She also plays with the Delaware Valley Wind Symphony, Southampton Community Band, Doylestown Wind Symphony and the Warminster Symphony Orchestra.

Irina Lurye


Irina graduated from the Pedagogic Institute of Moscow, Russia, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Teaching. She was the Choir Accompanist, Manager of the Educational Department, and Piano Teacher at the Children’s Choir Studio in Simferopol, Ukraine. She was also the Choir Accompanist and Piano Teacher at the Music School for Children in Moscow, Russia. Upon her arrival in the United States in 1995, she was the Pianist/Choir Accompanist at the John J. Pershing Intermediate School in Brooklyn, NY. Irina is currently an active member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Bucks County Piano Teachers Association, and the Piano Teachers Forum of New Jersey.

Erin Maurer

Piano – Music Therapy

Erin is a board certified and registered music therapist, and a Pennsylvania state certified music educator. As a licensed Kindermusik instructor, Erin taught and coordinated the Kindermusik curricula offered at Southampton Music Company. In addition, Erin teaches private piano instruction and is the worship leader at Chalfont United Methodist Church. As a faculty educator for Kindermusik International during the training season, Erin presented workshops in many cities for teachers and musicians interested in learning about the Kindermusik curriculum. Erin has also been a speaker and presenter of music education/music therapy topics at several colleges and universities, including the University of the Arts, Wilson College, Gallaudet University, and Mansfield University. She has been a member of the American College of Musicians, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, MTNA, and the Bucks County Piano Teachers Association.

Steven Gokh

Woodwinds – “SMC Lessons At Home” Woodwinds

Steven Gokh is a professional jazz saxophonist based in Philadelphia. He has many years of academic experience, earning a Bachelors Degree from Temple University in 2008, followed by a Masters Degree from William Patterson University in 2010, both in Jazz Performance. Steven teaches beginner to advanced level jazz and classical saxophone, along with beginner to intermediate clarinet and flute. You can see Steven perform with his group Puzzlebox and local jazz venues.

Charis Duke

Piano – Oboe – Young Actors Guild – Township Classes

Charis received her Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from Brigham Young University and earned her Master of Music in Composition degree from the University of Illinois. Her music has been performed by numerous ensembles including the Amadeus Choir of Toronto, the Boston Viola Quartet, and the Cincinnati Camerata. She has received numerous honors and awards, most notably the Nancy Van de Vate International Prize for Opera from Vienna Masterworks. She has written ten children’s operas and enjoys composing in all genres and styles. Charis is also an accomplished performer, specializing in contemporary keyboard music with extended techniques. Charis is a member of the American Composers Forum, ASCAP, and the Society of Composers, Inc.

Gene Hahn

Acoustic Guitar – Electric Guitar – Bass Guitar

Gene has been teaching locally for almost 20 years and has a strong following of happy students. He received his degree in Music Performance from Bucks County Community College. He is currently playing in the band “The Zings” a club/corporate band for weddings and private parties. Gene has performed with Nashville recording artists and currently teaches private students and group classes for Southampton Music. His background includes Blues, Classical, Rock, and Jazz. Students can learn according to their likes as the music they listen to will be incorporated into their lesson.
